Capintec Graves Phantom | Water-Equivalent Quantitative SPECT

Capintec Graves Phantom | Water-Equivalent Quantitative SPECT

The Capintec Graves Phantom is a water-equivalent cylindrical calibration phantom for quantitative SPECT (qSPECT) and dosimetry in radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT). Developed with Dr. Stephen Graves of the University of Iowa, it mimics patient size, attenuation, and scatter conditions, allowing system sensitivity to be measured for each radionuclide. Supplied with six 250 ml lab bottles for radionuclide interchangeability. Manufactured by Capintec and supplied by Meditronix Corporation in India.

Key Features:

  • Water-equivalent cylindrical geometry that mimics patient attenuation and scatter
  • Quantifies SPECT system sensitivity factors for accurate counts-to-activity conversion
  • Realistic scatter conditions not fully corrected by dual- or triple-energy window methods
  • Central cavity accepts a 250 ml lab bottle flush with the surface
  • Radionuclide interchangeability through lab bottles, avoiding long-lived phantom contamination
  • Solid phantom design retains consistent measurement conditions
  • Crosshair scribe lines at 50 mm for positioning reference

Applications:

  • Quantitative SPECT system calibration
  • Radiopharmaceutical therapy dosimetry
  • Sensitivity measurement for each radionuclide
  • Compliance with AAPM Task Group 417 guidance for RPT dosimetry calibration
  • Clinical and research qSPECT workflows
